Who I Am

About Me

Early in my career, I realized the educational system for families and children living with special needs is flawed – namely because it is highly misunderstood, and there is no cohesive curriculum that continues to support and advocate for the child’s continuous development.

Children need access to privatized care, in-home supportive services, group therapies, speech, occupational, behavior and adaptive therapy, as well as quality education.

Speech Therapy

Addresses communication and speech disorders for all ages. Therapists, known as speech-language pathologists, diagnose and treat issues like articulation, fluency, voice, and language, using tailored techniques to improve communication skills and enhance overall quality of life.

Behavioral Support

Employs strategies for positive behavior change in various settings. Tailored plans consider an individual’s environment and challenges, involving techniques like positive reinforcement. The process starts with assessment and continues with ongoing monitoring.

Parent Training

Equips parents with strategies for their child’s development, emphasizing understanding autism, communication, and behavior management. The goal is to enhance the parent-child relationship, improve functioning, and provide practical tools for proactive support within the family and community.

Academic Support

Including tutoring and accommodations, enhances learning in schools. Using technology to suit diverse styles and collaborating with parents at home, the goal is to empower children academically, build confidence, and inspire a love for lifelong learning.

Through the application of evidence-based strategies, TK MY WAY shares knowledge and provides assistance to families through supported community adaptation.

Our programs are transforming lives by offering services that create social and educational constructs rooted in a foundation based in love, kindness, and understanding. We recognize there are different ways of learning, and have modeled the foundation of the organization to apply each of these learning techniques to give families support and guidance. We are creating a natural motivating environment where families affected by special needs can learn and contribute to their child’s success.

Families are unaware of the services and resources available to them. We are here to make those connections and educate our parents. Our outreach will be expanded with the support of your private funding, so that we can continue to extend support to children and their families.

Testimonials

“As a mother of three boys and all three being on the spectrum, I was lucky enough to meet Kimberly. My boys have been receiving services for the past three years (speech, behavioral and academic tutoring). We always chuckle a bit when I introduce her as “my one stop shop”. She is caring, inventive and very perceptive. She customizes the session in accordance to the child’s needs and abilities. She TRULY loves her job and most of all the child she works with. My boys always run to her for hugs when they see her!

She’s very flexible and strives to make it all work with the parents. My husband and I have learned so much from her guidance. As a parent we get a chance to learn how to work with our children and their disabilities and she teaches not only the child, but the parent as well. You just need to follow her lead and trust her process.

Thank you Kimberly for all you have done and the progress we see in our boys. We love you!”

Keren

“Kimberly is absolutely amazing. I am an upcoming ABA therapist and have been able to train under her and have even grown to love this field more and more because of her. On my first day of training under her I sat in during her sessions and was nearly brought to tears because of how she interacts with her clients with so much care, love and passion.

My heart was so moved and I could see she not only loved what she was doing but has a love for her clients. She pours into her sessions with every fiber of her being with hopes to see her clients grow and flourish. She is so patient with her clients while also challenging them and believing in them to thrive. With much humility, she not only teaches them but learns from them. She does so well communicating with parents, caregivers, therapists and anyone else who is in the clients life as she believes it’s a team, it takes a village and all hands on deck for the betterment of her clients.

She is well articulate and clear, has much knowledge, many years of experience and continues to research, learn and implement the best tools and strategies. I see the work she does and see how she makes such positive impacts in clients, families, therapists, and others lives. One thing she said that has continued to stick with me is “it is important that you don’t try to force them into your world but you need to come into their world and meet them where they are at.”

It’s an honor to know her, to train under her, and to witness her change one life at a time.”
